"Hey, you're a voidcaster, right? We gotta put some gas in this buggy!" -- Martin
This is great. You know, I think what I liked about this episode the most is how many weird and interesting things seem to be going on in the background without explanation. In particular this part, where Martin is immediately familiar with the space outlaws he meets. Have you seen that Adult Swim show, Rick and Morty? That's what this part reminded me of: Martin's familiarity with all this far-flung sci-fi stuff really makes you wonder what sorts of adventures he's been on, just like Rick, on Rick and Morty. It implies so many more layers of depth to the world and characters. Great shows, both of them, and excellent work.
By all means you should check out Rick and Morty! They just finished their first season, and I tell you what, that show has far greater emotional weight than an animated sci-fi sitcom has any right to be, not to mention that neat background thing I mentioned. In any case, you're welcome.
